On October 10th, the military training achievements show and summary commendation ceremony of freshmen 2020 was held in the athletic field of HIE. President Yi Bing, Deputy Secretary Ning Liwei, Vice President Li Junlin, Vice President Luo Yiping and member of the CPC HIE committee Li Yongjian, presented the ceremony. Heads of relevant departments of HIE, deans, secretaries and vice secretaries of schools, military training instructors, class advisors, counselors and freshmen 2020 attended and Vice President Li Junlin presided over the meeting.
With the national flag fluttering in the clear sky, the 2020 freshmen military training achievements show and summary commendation ceremony was kicked off accompanied by the solemn national anthem. Along with the sounding of the parade march of the PLA, a phalanx of military training instructors came out first. They walked with sonorous and powerful steps, and showed elegant demeanor of soldiers with a calm and confident mental outlook. Then there came a phalanx from 12 schools. They passed in front of the rostrum in turn with vigorous pace, loud slogans and high morale. And for the first time, returning veterans performed bayoneting exercises and special tactics.
Xiao Bowen, a freshman representative, delivered his speech, saying that during the military training, he not only learned military skills, but also honed his will, cultivated self-confidence and engraved the indomitable spirit and unyielding quality of soldiers. Li Wenzhuo, leader of the first platoon of the fourth company of the second battalion, on behalf of military training instructors, he used such words as "perseverance", "self-improvement" and "constant transcendence" to encourage college students to demonstrate responsibilities of obligations by practical actions. Xing Chengyong, a veteran representative, shared his military experience with the freshmen, hoping that they will love our motherland and people, carry forward the spirit of HIE "Make Steady Efforts, Dare to Be the First", strive to learn knowledge, integrate personal choice and development into the current of the times, and combine personal dream with the great "Chinese dream".
"Military training is the first beautiful chapter of our university life." said President Yi Bing during his summary report. He extended cordial greetings and warm congratulations to all freshmen who had worked hard and successfully completed their first course of college. Meanwhile, he put forward three hopes and requirements to the students. Firstly, he hopes that students can show their responsibility of youth to live up to the great trust of the times, integrate the ego into the greater self of the motherland and the people, and compose a magnificent song of youth with an unrestrained and brilliant melody. Secondly, he suggests that students shall form the habit of diligent study, lay a solid foundation, climb the peak of study bravely, accumulate knowledge and increase talents step by step. Lastly, he is in the hope that students can practice noble conduct. Accumulate bit by bit and cultivate in words and deeds. Also, they should constantly cultivate morality.
Mr. Cheng Ping, Minister of the Military Office, read out the commendation decision. The leaders on the spot presented banners to the award-winning square array and excellent organization units.
Shining spear nurtures the plum; military training forges the soul of an army. The over-10-days military training ended in the chorus of "My Motherland and Me" by all teachers and students.
