On the afternoon of December 18th, Sun Yongfu, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, former executive vice minister of Ministry of Railways and famous railway engineering expert, was invited to the school and gave a wonderful lecture entitled "The Road to Success of China's High-speed Railway" to teachers and students in a lecture hall. Yi Bing, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of our school, received Sun Yongfu in the conference room. Luo Yiping, member of the Party Committee and vice president, and teachers and students of the School of Architecture and Engineering attended the lecture.

    Before the lecture, Yi Bing introduced Sun Yongfu to the school's history and future vision, and had a cordial exchange with Sun Yongfu. Sun Yongfu presented Yi Bing with his autobiography.

    Since the reform and opening up, China's railways have undergone historic changes. As a national strategic emerging industry, China's high-speed rail has become a beautiful Chinese business card. As a witness to this period of history, Sun Yongfu described in detail the development of China's high-speed railway. He reviewed the development history of China's high-speed railway, summarized typical engineering practices, and pointed out that the development of China's high-speed railway has gone through independent exploration and research, major technological breakthroughs, comprehensive independent innovation and other stages. Sun Yongfu said that nowadays, China's high-speed railway network is developed, advanced in technology, complete in system, safe, reliable, convenient and efficient, which not only provides assistance for the rapid development of China's social economy, but also plays a more important role in promoting world economy. Looking forward to the future development of high-speed railway, Sun Yongfu believes that green, low-carbon and intelligent are the future direction, and introduces the current research progress of high-speed maglev railway, ultra-high-speed railway and other related technologies to teachers and students.

    Luo Yiping expressed deep and sincere gratitude to Academician Sun Yongfu for his lecture, and said in his concluding remarks that the lecture had a broad vision and clear views, which not only enabled teachers and students to have a deeper understanding of China's high-speed railway, but also provided important guidance and help for the development of related disciplines in the school. Through face-to-face communication with academicians, teachers and students also boosted their confidence to devote themselves to scientific research and serve national construction.
